Arizona Center for Empowerment (ACE), and its sister organization, Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), are progressive, grassroots, community-based organizations engaged in and committed to building power throughout communities in Arizona. At ACE, we work to ensure that everyone has access to the American Dream by amplifying the voices of low- and moderate-income communities, communities of color, and immigrant communities through collective action.
We work to hold government and corporations accountable, improve the health of our families, economy and environment, and reform our public schools, workplaces and financial institutions.
We are seeking an energetic advocate to help support and develop local, statewide and federal strategies and campaign on our key democracy priorities, including voting rights, redistricting, money in politics and other democracy-expanding reforms.
Position Description
We are looking for an energetic, creative and driven issue advocate/director to help develop, support and implement state and local policy campaigns and strategies to advance voting rights, money in politics and democracy reforms in Arizona.
Candidates should have experience with issue advocacy campaigns, working in the Latinx community and at least 4 years of experience working with state-based coalitions, campaigns, or base-building community organizations to run issue campaigns. Candidates must be passionate about expanding access to democracy and increasing political participation in the Latinx community and some background working on democracy and civil rights issues is strongly preferred. This position is an exciting opportunity to help develop and coordinate ACE/LUCHA’s democracy campaign work as part of our organizational priorities and our leadership in the AZ Democracy Collaborative.

Responsibilities Include:
- Design and develop award-winning websites, digital/social media ads, print collateral for all ACRONYM projects and campaigns
- Turn insights from analytics into tangible design concepts
- Provides a trusted quality filter on all work by evaluating designs based on usability
- Conducts brainstorm sessions and develops concepts in collaboration with campaigners that are strategically sound, on brand, and result in high engagement
- Provide useful feedback to inform design process
- Proactively manage the creative pipeline to ensure work is delivered on-brief and on time
- Seek opportunities to codify knowledge and train others on best practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to produce provocative and engaging work
- Set a positive, fun and inspiring team culture guided by ACRONYM’s overarching values (empowerment, innovation, impact, empathy, and radical honesty)
Qualifications Required:
- 5-7 years of creative experience, especially in digital channels
- Well-rounded knowledge of web, print, and multimedia applications using
Adobe Creative Suite - A portfolio that reflects strong conceptual thinking, exceptional design aesthetic, and versatility
- Ability to generate new ideas and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in branding process, and upholding brand standards
- Strong typographic skills
- Knowledge of current UX/UI design, strategy and standards desired but not required
